BRESCIA [ENA] Juan Tonconogy and Barbara Ruffini are the Champions of the 1000 Miglia 2018, a great success in the 36th historycal re-enactrment. The Argentine crew, number 85, on board the Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 GS "Testa Fissa" of 1933, has outsold every other competition with an active score of 74108 points.

For the couple Tonconogy-Ruffini it is the third victory of the "most beautiful race in the world" after 2013 and 2015 editions. Franca Boni and Monica Barziza, on board a Lancia Aprilia 1500 in 1949, won the Ladies' Cup instead, obtaining the 45th place overall.

The historycal cars left Parma early in the morning and through the "Via Emilia" reached Milan and then Monza before reaching Brescia with the showground in Via Venezia and the "White Night" in Piazza Vittoria and Piazza Loggia. Inside the famous Autodromo di Monza where the Formula 1 cars will race in September, the last chrono-competition held the argentinian team as leaders.

Former 2017 Champions Andrea Vesco and Andrea Guerini, 3rd place.

The Italians represented 28% of the total. 725 Cars participated to the 1000 Miglia 2018 belongs to 75 different brands, so a success inside a success and a continuous growth: in 2013 started 626 cars coming from 30 countries, in 2014 619 and 35, 2015 saw 617 cars from 42 countries, then 2016 665/40 and the past year the "wall of 700" has been broken with 505 cars of 43 countries.
